The Social Revolution

You can deny it, but you know it’s true.  You can hide from it but sooner or later it will get you.  Some say it’s a fad, but do you remember when they said the internet was going to be a fad. or could you imagine life without computers today, I can because I was raised in the early 90’s.  Trust me, there was a time when kids went outside with each other.  There was actually a I time when you didn’t need to sign in to something all day long, now adays it’s the very first thing most people do when they wake up, that’s if they signed out the night before.
It’s only going to get bigger and bigger and in a few more years there will be something bigger and better.  The kind of things being created on the internet these days to draw people in are blowing my mind.  You have to remember five years ago MSN was the biggest thing because you could talk to more than one person at one time, unlike the telephone.
Starting with MySpace, to talk to others and see friend’s profiles, then Facebook with a whole network, games, status, and much more.  Now, Twitter made tweeting a whole other word, understood around the world.  Twitter give you the ability to follow the traffic of peoples posts, know what the trends are, know what is most common in peoples heads, and the magic (#) hotkey.  Foursquare, and Gowalla both are the same thing, one being mainly Canadian other more American, but has people traveling around the world “checking-in” everywhere they go. Giving everyone the ability to leave tips for others entering or thinking of entering wherever you are.  Give everyone a chance to earn badges or to become a mayor of a certain place and possibly get a discount, crazy isn’t it.
Well here is a video that explains how big it really is and here is are some Facebook stats for you.
